The Brazoria County Historical Museum is setting course for adventure this holiday season with the debut of its newest exhibit, LEGO® Shipyard: Historic Voyages, opening Saturday, December 6, and running through January 3.
In partnership with the Brazos Brick Club, the Museum will showcase a stunning collection of maritime-inspired LEGO® creations that bring history to life, brick by brick. Visitors can explore detailed models of famous vessels, including the battleship USS Texas, the Civil War paddle ship Acadia, and other legendary ships that have shaped maritime history.
To celebrate the grand opening, the Museum will host a family-friendly event on Saturday, December 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Guests can meet members of the Brazos Brick Club, embark on a museum-wide scavenger hunt, create hands-on maritime crafts, and participate in a family build competition at 10:30 a.m. The winning team will receive a family four-pack of tickets to the Brick Convention of their choice. The event is sponsored in part by Phyllis Saathoff, Port Freeport Executive Director/CEO.
The exhibit offers a fun and creative way to explore our maritime heritage. It’s a perfect blend of history, craftsmanship, and imagination for visitors of all ages.
The Brazoria County Historical Museum is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is located at 100 East Cedar Street in Angleton. For more information, visit the Museum’s Facebook page or call 979-864-1208.
