County Floodplain Management Excellence Award
Brazoria County was honored to receive the Excellence Award from the Texas Floodplain Management Association during Commissioners Court this week.
When presented, it was noted that “Brazoria County sets the standard for going above and beyond in floodplain management through its emergency management team.”
This recognition reflects a true team effort. Brazoria County brings together partners from industry, education, healthcare, and local government to collaborate, share resources, and proactively reduce flood risk across our area.
In Brazoria County, we work as a team, and that commitment continues to make a difference.
Alvin ISD Superintendent's Student Leadership Program
Alvin ISD’s Superintendent’s Student Advisory and district leaders visited the Brazoria County Courthouse this week!
As part of the Superintendent’s Student Leadership Program, 25 high school students visited the Brazoria County Courthouse. During their visit, they attended Commissioners Court and met with several County departments to learn how county government works and serves the community.
We are proud to welcome the next generation of leaders and appreciate their interest in public service!
Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month
Brazoria County Child Welfare Board attended Brazoria County Commissioners Court on March 24, where the Court recognized April as Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month.
Every day, individuals from families, schools, nonprofit organizations, faith groups, and government agencies work together to prevent abuse and create safe environments for our children.
The Brazoria County Child Welfare Board will host their 2026 Pinwheel Ceremony on Wednesday, April 1, at 10:00 AM at the Brazoria County Courthouse. Join us as we stand together to support and protect the children in our community.
Pearland Chamber of Commerce Leadership Group
The 2026 Pearland Chamber of Commerce Leadership Group was recognized during Commissioners Court. The Pearland Leadership Team spent the day visiting with County Departments and elected officials to learn more about County Government.
