Sobriety Through Education & Participation

 STEP Program

Brazoria County’s Drug Court Program: A Path to Recovery, Not Just Incarceration

Law Enforcement with a Purpose. Rehabilitation with Compassion. 💙

At Brazoria County Constable Pct. 1, we believe in justice, but we also believe in hope, healing, and second chances. That’s why we are proud to be actively involved by having a Deputy from Precinct One assigned to the Brazoria County S.T.E.P. – Sobriety Through Education & Participation, A Drug Court Program that focuses on rehabilitation over incarceration.

Breaking the Cycle – A Different Approach to Justice

Too often, individuals struggling with substance abuse find themselves trapped in a cycle of addiction and incarceration. Instead of only putting people behind bars, S.T.E.P. provides a structured opportunity for recovery, education, and reintegration into society.

Our Constable Deputies play a key role in this program—not just as law enforcement officers, but as mentors, supporters, and advocates for those working to turn their lives around.

A Constable's Role: More Than Just a Badge

For many, seeing a law enforcement officer in uniform can be intimidating. But in S.T.E.P., our Constable Deputy is there to encourage, support, and guide participants, showing them that we are here to help, not just to punish.

By engaging directly with program participants, our deputies:

Build Trust – Showing individuals that law enforcement truly cares about their success.
Support Rehabilitation – Encouraging participants to stay accountable and committed to sobriety.
Change Perspectives – Allowing individuals to see officers as people, not just enforcers of the law.
Help Create a New Path – Providing resources, mentorship, and a real chance at a fresh start.

A Future of Healing & Hope

At the end of the day, our mission is simple: We don’t want to see people in jail—we want to see them heal. We want them to rebuild their lives, reunite with their families, and become productive, thriving members of our community.

🚨 S.T.E.P. isn’t about giving people an easy way out. It’s about giving them the tools, support, and structure they need to break free from addiction and build a better future.

A Community That Cares

We are proud to stand with Brazoria County’s Drug Court Program because real change happens when we invest in people—not just punish them.

Recovery is possible - Redemption is real - And we are here to help those who want help!

Together, we can build a stronger, healthier, and safer Brazoria County—one life at a time. 💙✨
