GIS (Geographic Information Systems)

The GIS group’s purpose is to provide the most updated GIS data to Brazoria County and the public. Some GIS data is sensitive, although public information. For such sensitive information, an Open Records Request may be necessary.

Maps

General / common maps are available for download here. Hardcopy maps are available in various print sizes, for a fee to cover the cost of supplies. Map fees vary depending on size and color.

GIS data requests

Several sets of data are available on the Brazoria County Appraisal District GIS Data page.

More data is available on the Brazoria County Engineering Department Data Downloads page.

For other data not listed, please make a request using the information below.

 

Email request to: engineer-GIS@brazoriacountytx.gov

Please include your:

  1. Name, Title, Phone Number and US Postal Address.
  2. Organization and whether it is public or private.
  3. Include the data format preference (i.e., shapefile, geodatabase, CAD, etc.)

Include any other helpful information, such as extent of area (keep in mind that it may be difficult to transmit some data to the extent of the entire county, such as contour elevations).
