Game Rooms

The Brazoria County Sheriff is the Game Room Permit Administrator for game rooms located within the unincorporated areas of Brazoria County. The Brazoria County Sheriff and his designees are responsible for issuing or denying game room permits in the unincorporated areas of Brazoria County pursuant to the First Amended Brazoria County Game Room Regulations and any applicable state law.

A non-refundable application fee of $1,000.00 must be paid to the Brazoria County Treasurer’s Office in the form of a money order or cashier’s check (PAY TO THE ORDER OF: Brazoria County Treasurer). (No personal checks or cash will be accepted, and please DO NOT sign/endorse the back of the money order or cashier's check).

• A receipt showing that the non-refundable application fee of $1,000.00 has been paid to the Brazoria County Treasurer’s Office must be attached to the Game Room Permit Application submitted to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office.

ORDER NO. 7.N.1 RE: Extend Game Room Permit Deadline - February 1, 2021 

Because additional time is necessary to ensure game rooms in the unincorporated areas of Brazoria County properly comply with the Brazoria County Game Room Regulations relating to the Texas Comptroller’s requirements, the Court hereby extends the current September 26, 2020, permit deadline; accordingly, the new permit deadline is February 1, 2021. Further, the Court orders that a certified copy of this Order be delivered to the Brazoria County Sheriff, who is the County’s Game Room Permit Administrator.

8/25/2020 Update: Commissioner’s Court passed the Second Amended Game Room Regulations, and Second Amended Game Room Application. The new regulations and application are below:
